Fabrics: Care & maintenance
General advice
- Vacuum regularly
- Wipe the surface with a damp cloth if needed.
- Remove spills immediately.
- Be particularly aware of areas that are in contact with skin and hair, such as armrests and neck support.
- We do not recommend impregnation of wool fabrics.
Fabrics with a heavily textured surface
Due to the construction of the fabric it can snag if sharp objects are used. If snags do occur, carefully push them back into the fabric with a fine but blunt tool. Do not try to pull them out or cut them off.
Fabrics with a high proportion of natural fibers
We recommend to vacuum the furniture regularly and wipe the surface with a damp cloth as needed. Remove spills immediately. If stains and dirt cannot easily be removed with a damp cloth, a cleaning machine for furniture and carpets can be used with lukewarm water. Make sure to use as little water and soap as possible. Please follow the machine and cleaning agents instructions carefully. Professional dry cleaning is also an option. Pilling is a natural occurence on products which are made of natural fibres, such as wool. The pilling will reduce over time and can easily be removed with vacuuming or a “fabric-shaver”. We do not recommend impregnation of our wool fabrics.
Fabrics made from synthetic fibers
Fabrics made from synthetic fibers such as polyester, polyamide and acryl have a unique wear resistance, long durability and good light fastness. To help the surface retain its appearance, we recommend that you vacuum the furniture regularly and wipe the surface with a damp cloth as needed. Remove spills immediately. If stains and dirt cannot easily be removed with a damp cloth, a cleaning agent and stain remover from the Stressless® Fabric Care Kit may be used.
Fabric Care Kit
The Stressless® Fabric Care Kit contains a fabric cleaner, a stain remover and an Ox cleaner. This kit contains everything you need to clean your furniture in minutes without removing the fabric cover. For resistant stains, use the fabric cleaner together with the stain remover and Ox cleaner.
