The colour is to be used in Ekornes’ marketing in the coming year, replacing Sky Blue which dominated advertising campaigns worldwide in 2011.
Choosing a signal colour is a lengthy process, starting well over a year before the colour is launched at the retailer fair in Ålesund in October. The Ekornes design team attend trend seminars all over the world. They also study trend and colour prognoses from various trend agencies and colour system manufacturers. This helps the design team to form the best possible picture of where the development is heading.
The trends show that stronger, clearer and brighter colours are on their way into fashion and interior design, after years of safe and neutral palettes. Influential sources point towards red tones and the pinkish red hues in particular to dominate in the coming seasons.
